*These programs are funded through IHBG grants and are provided at no cost to eligible applicants. Funding is limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Programs are administered under the Tribe’s Annual Indian Housing Plan and HUD grant. 

The NAHASDA IHBG program provides safe, affordable housing and supportive services for low- and moderate-income Middletown Rancheria members. Programs include housing maintenance, crime prevention, student rental assistance, homeless prevention, and rental deposit support to meet the needs of our community.

Current 2026 IHBG Programs

  • New Construction of Home Buyer Unit- Middletown Rancheria plans to construct one manufactured home on the Rancheria to assist eligible low-income tribal members and address homelessness. The home will be provided as a grant to the selected family for the life of the unit at no cost to the homebuyer.
  • Housing Rehabilitation Assistance Program- As funding allows, the Housing Rehabilitation Program provides assistance to address a range of housing needs, with emergency repairs prioritized. Eligible low-income families receive this support at no
  • Home Buyer Assistance Program Low-Income- The Middletown Rancheria Housing Department provides assistance to eligible low-income tribal members to purchase a home. Home Buyer Assistance funds may be used for down payment and/or closing costs, with a one-time grant of up to $20,000 per household. Assistance levels will be determined based on income and loan eligibility, and all support is provided at no cost to the family in accordance with the Tribe’s housing policy.
  • Home Buyer Assistance Program Non-Low Income- The Middletown Rancheria Housing Department provides one-time assistance of up to $20,000 for down payment or closing costs to eligible non-low-income (80–100% AMI) tribal members. Assistance is provided at no cost and eligibility is determined by the Tribe’s housing policy.

The Middletown Rancheria Housing Department is committed to supporting Tribal Members who are experiencing, or are at risk of, homelessness. The Tribal Homelessness Housing Assistance and Prevention (HHAP) Program provides flexible, culturally responsive assistance to help secure safe, stable housing and access essential supportive services.

Current 2026 HHAP Programs 
Prevention Programs:

Middletown Rancherias Prevention Programs are to keep our tribal members stably housed and prevent homelessness.

  • Rental & Utility Assistance-one-time or short-term help to prevent evictions/shutoffs.
  • Mortgage Assistance – Emergency support to prevent
  • Move-In Assistance – deposits, first/last month’s rent, basic furnishings,
  • Eviction Mediation – landlord-tenant negotiation to resolve
  • Elder Housing Stability Fund – targeted housing support for elders at risk of losing housing
Youth -Focused Programs

Middletown Rancheria Youth Focused programs are targeted to prevent and address homelessness among tribal youth and young adults.

  • Student Housing Assistance – rental help for tribal members in college or training
Supportive Services

 Middletown Rancherias Supportive Services are a wraparound service to help stabilize our tribal members’ housing and improve well-being.

  • Transportation Assistance – gas cards, shuttle services, or bus
  • Mental Health & Wellness Services – integrate counseling, peer support, traditional

Meet the Staff

Housing Director

Malia Rose Aldrich is a proud tribal member of Middletown Rancheria and serves as the Tribe’s Housing Director. She is dedicated to providing safe, healthy, and affordable housing for tribal members, both on and off the rancheria. Malia brings a community-centered approach rooted in fairness, transparency, and respect, working closely with the Tribal Council and other departments to strengthen homes, neighborhoods, and the well-being of the tribal community. Project Manager

Dylan Finley, Project Manager, supports both the Housing Director and the Maintenance Department at Middletown Rancheria. He assists with planning, coordinating, and overseeing housing and maintenance projects to ensure timely and effective service to Tribal members. Dylan is an integral part of the growth and well being of the tribal community.

Scott Lindsey has been a dedicated member of the Middletown Rancheria Maintenance Department since 2022, providing reliable and committed support to ensure Tribal members’ homes and community spaces are safe, well-maintained, and functional.
